Who we are

One plumber. His name is James.

Fleet Plumbing is James — a Gas Safe registered, City & Guilds NVQ qualified plumbing and heating engineer based at Sandersons Avenue in Sevenoaks, with 17 years of hands-on experience across the town and the surrounding West Kent villages. When you call Fleet Plumbing, you speak to the person who will do the work, and you deal with him from the first phone call to the final check.

The range runs from boiler repairs, servicing and installations to central heating, leaks and water-supply faults, everyday plumbing and full bathroom refurbishments — where James will help design the layout, fit it, and even organise related trades like plastering and tiling so you have one point of contact throughout.

James doesn't chase the cheapest-looking quote, and he won't pretend to. What the reviews describe instead is work that is “clean, tidy, and built to last”, a tradesman who future-proofs a fix rather than patching it, and someone who explains what he's doing so you understand what you're paying for. One customer put the difference against other tradesmen simply: “night and day.”

But the clearest picture of the firm is in the reviews — a straight 5.0 on Google. James turning up on time and taking his shoes off at the door without being asked. James researching a cold-water fault properly rather than guessing. James organising the plastering so a bathroom refurbishment ran smoothly. Honest, skilled, and — in his customers' own words — “someone you can trust in your home.”

What stands behind the work

Credentials, in plain English.

Qualified & registered

  • Gas Safe Registered

By law, only a Gas Safe registered engineer may work on your boiler, gas appliances and flues. It is the single most important thing to check before letting anyone touch your gas.

  • City & Guilds NVQ Qualified

James is a fully qualified plumbing and heating engineer, City & Guilds NVQ trained. Certificates are available to view on request — just ask.

  • CIPHE Member

Member of the Chartered Institute of Plumbing and Heating Engineering — the professional body that sets standards of conduct and competence across the trade.

Safe in your home

  • Full DBS Checked

James holds a full, current DBS check — so you can feel completely at ease having him in your home, around your family and around vulnerable relatives.

  • £5,000,000 Public Liability Insurance

Comprehensive £5 million public liability cover means that in the very unlikely event something goes wrong, you and your property are fully protected.

  • 17 Years' Experience

Seventeen years working hands-on across Sevenoaks and West Kent — from a dripping tap to a full bathroom, there is very little James has not seen and fixed before.

What all this means for you

Put simply: the person in your home is legally allowed to work on your gas, formally trained to do the plumbing, background-checked to be there, and fully insured if anything ever went wrong. It's the boring paperwork behind the “someone you can trust” that the reviews keep mentioning — and James is happy to show any of the certificates on request.

Care & maintenance guide

Small habits that keep the plumber's bill down.

A few minutes each season saves most households an avoidable call-out. Here's what James recommends through the year.

Winter

Bleed radiators that are cold at the top, and keep the heating ticking over on frosty nights — a pipe that freezes and bursts costs far more than the gas you save by switching it off.

Spring

A good time for an annual boiler service, before the engineers get busy in autumn. Check outside taps and garden pipework for splits after the cold months.

Summer

Run the heating for ten minutes even in July — it keeps the pump and valves from seizing, so the system fires cleanly when you first need it in October.

Autumn

Get the boiler serviced and any niggles looked at before the first cold snap. It is the single best way to avoid a no-heat emergency in the middle of winter.
